What can we say? It was love at first sight. Two of the cutest puppies we had ever seen!! They were just 6 weeks old, but full of unique personality, energy and a zest for life from the moment they were born. Sunshine and Daisy were sisters, litter mates. They were inseparable and partners in crime. Like most sisters, they didn’t always agree, but they always loved each other dearly and were never apart. Like any responsible beagle, they were constantly on the prowl for an innocent rabbit or mouse. While not very successful in their backyard hunting adventures, they never gave up! Daisy was most definitely a “daddy’s girl”. She was always by her dad’s side, hoping that a piece of food would “accidentally” fall to her. Daisy was so excited for a treat that literally her entire hind side wagged. She slept by her daddy’s bedside almost every night to keep a watchful protective eye on the household. Sunny was less interested in food but totally obsessed with that darn rabbit that lived in the back yard! She would insist on getting dad up in the middle of the night to escort her down stairs to go outside for her nightly hunt even though we have a doggie door. It was really more for moral support and encouragement than anything. They both greeted us every day when we came home as if we were the most important people in the world, expressing their joy to see us with their very distinctive beagle bugle. Sunny greeted us with a kiss on the lips while Daisy gave us a big “hug” by leaning into us to tell us to snuggle and tell us about her day. We will always remember our girls with love, happiness and the joy that our babies brought to us with their unconditional love.
